Filming Thomas Duffy Day 1 - The First Day The first day of filming was shot in Cafe Jazz in Cardiff.  When we first arrived at the location, the owners told us that there was a problem with using the wall lights as they had a leak the night before. This wasn't an issue but it did mean that we had to us our own lights for to light up the background later in filming.  we arrived at Cafe Jazz around 10;30 and our actors arrived around 1. Things went really well and everyone got along well and everyone was clear on what roles they had.  Day 2 The second day of filming was shot in the big room of College. We filmed the scene where Tommy Concord meets Mr Marino. This scene didn't take long to film, we started filming around 9;45 and we finished around 12. When both actors had left, Sharayh had the idea to do a stop motion scene where black paint drips from the eyes and mouth of Mr Marinos "paintings". Day 3 The Third ...

Meeting Minutes

Meeting Minutes (Added to weekly) Thomas Duffy 30th November We discussed what essay we wanted to do, We were stuck between Kaitlyns ands Vivians. We then went through what was needed for both scripts. Kaitlyns: Modern Day, Hotel Room, Bar/Pub, House/Flat, Taxi/Car, Prop Gun Vivians: Modern Day, Pub, Street, Vehicle, Mysterious Room. After looking at these we have decided to go with Vivian Frasers The Rise And Fall Of Tommy Concord. 4th December  Alice printed off 4 scripts, for each member of the group. This is for each of us to annotate for each of our role. This is also so each member knows what the production requirements of the production according to the role.  We discussed where we think could be possible locations.  10th December  Sharyah has started to research lighting she wants to use, and is waiting for the final storyboards so she can make a start with the camera script 14th December Alice decided to make a StarN...

Test Shots

Test Shots Sharayah Tokeley I experimented with some different types of lighting to use for the production. I have decided to use open face lights for the indoor scenes. Mainly red heads. I also used diffusers to soften and darken the light. This is the lighting with the darker filter. I feel this would be more fitting for the scenes at the bar of the pub. This is the lighting with the white filter over it which softens he light and makes it more or a milky bright colour rather than yellow. I will be using this kind of lighting for the scenes when the main character gets up on stage to sing.  This is lit with a dimmer light and a filter to give it a softer and darker look. I will most likely use this kind of lighting for the scenes with Mr. Marino in the big room.  After experimenting with these lights I've decided that instead of doing a harsh gel orange colour for the main scheme I'm going to make it more subtly orange, either with orange gel filt...
